Fun with Playdo

My wife and I are raising a 3 year old (Emily). She is wonderful but sometimes, she gets bored. We've tried all the normal things, including coloring books, reading books, DVD's, dress up, you name it, and we’ve tried it!

She just gets so distracted with all of those other things. So in an effort to find something for Emily to enjoy my wife (Meghan) got Emily some "Playdo!" Playdo can be a lot of fun, especially if you are good at that sort of thing. Luckily for me and Emily, I can draw and make things with my hands. So during the "recovery period" of eating TOO much for Thanksgiving, we broke out the playdo. Emily of course likes to pretend that she is making food, or using her toy kitchen, that coincidently is located in OUR kitchen!

Making pizza with playdo is just like making it with the real stuff. The difference of course is that you don't bake it, or eat it!

Playdo now has all difference colors to choose from. The problem I have with it, in Emily's case, is that she likes to mush it all together! I do my best to keep the colors separated. With Pizza, just take a little bit of white playdo and shape it like a triangle. Then you smash it sort of flat and leave a little bit of crust. From there you need to add tomato sause, so I used the red playdo and made a red triangle small enough to fit on top of the crust. Of course you need to add the cheese, green peppers and sausage! I just used the different colors and made the shapes. Presto, readymade pizza!

The deviled egg was just as easy. I used a small piece of white playdo and made a ball shape. You just have to flatten the top a little and put a small flat piece of yellow playdo on. There you have it, a piece of sausage pizza and a deviled egg!

You know, it's a lot of fun for the children to play with their daddies using playdo. I have a secret for you adults out there. It's a lot of fun for DADDIES too!
